Kirk lived alone in Salem, Oregon. He was not just a regular customer at his local Domino’s Pizza. He was their best customer. For nearly 10 years, Kirk ordered online almost every single day.
The pizza workers knew his name by heart. His order popping up on the screen was a normal part of their day. They felt like they really knew him.
But one day in May 2016, something changed. The store manager, Sarah Fuller, noticed a strange detail. Kirk had not ordered a pizza in 11 days.
This was a huge red flag for the team. Kirk never skipped his daily routine. A sudden break like this meant something was very wrong.
Sarah did not just ignore it. She cared about her favorite customer. She asked a delivery driver, Tracey, to drive over and check on him.
Tracey drove to Kirk’s house on a Sunday afternoon. She saw that the lights were on. She could even hear the TV playing inside the house.
But when she knocked loudly on the door, nobody answered. Tracey knew this was a bad sign. She called her manager, and they quickly decided to call 911.
Police officers rushed to the house. When they walked up to the door, they heard a weak voice calling for help. They immediately broke down the door and ran inside.
They found Kirk lying on the floor in bad shape. He had suffered a severe stroke. He was all alone and could not reach a phone to call for help.
Paramedics rushed Kirk to the emergency room. Thanks to the quick actions of the pizza staff, he arrived just in time. The doctors saved him, and he survived.
The police told the local news that the Domino’s workers were true heroes. If they had waited another day, Kirk probably would have died.
The pizza team even visited him in the hospital with cards and flowers. Domino’s corporate heard the story and rewarded the workers with a free trip to Las Vegas.
